Himalayan Trout Caviar — A Gilgit Baltistan Delicacy, Harvested to Order

Real trout caviar is uncommon in Pakistan — most "caviar" on the market is imported, heavily processed, or not caviar at all. Ours is harvested by hand from trout raised in our own glacier-fed ponds in Juglot and packed the same day, so what reaches you is genuinely fresh roe, not a shelf-stable substitute.

Expect small, firm, amber-orange eggs with a clean, briny pop and a mild, buttery finish — closer to salmon roe than the stronger flavour of sturgeon caviar, and easier to pair with everyday food.

Serving ideas

• Spoon over cream cheese on toast points or crackers
• Finish a plate of pasta or risotto just before serving
